Danny Gillan has created one of the funniest books I've read in years from the most improbable material. Not only does he show insight and understanding into the serious issue of depression and how it affects not only the sufferer, but their family and friends, but he's managed to make his story accessible, highly entertaining and, from the reader's point of view, eminently satisfying.

Great dialogue, sure-footed characterisation, credible situations, and written with a perceptive insight into the hype surrounding the music industry, this story will appeal across the board.
